Primary Purpose:

To assist in the attainment of District goals through effective and efficient maintenance and repair of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

General

  1. Demonstrates thoroughness, reliability and a high degree of accuracy in performing work assignments.

Maintenance and Repair

  1. Installs, services and repairs air conditioning and heating systems and related equipment.
  2. Reads and interprets plans, diagrams and code requirement for proper installation of air conditioning and heating equipment.
  3. Fabricates, assembles and install various sizes of filter media in various locations.
  4. Receives and completes work orders.
  5. Assists Journeyman in service, installation and repair of HVAC systems.

 

 

 

Safety

  1. Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
  2. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  3. Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
  4. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
  5. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise general maintenance worker when assigned.

 

Equipment Used:

Meter, gage, welding equipment, ladder, hoist, hand and power tools, pipe bender, propane torch. Light truck or van.

 

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent districtwide travel.
